Avacyn Restored Launch Events

Avacyn Restored is finally here! After an awesome prerelease last weekend, we’re ready to get rolling with Sealed and Draft events!

Friday Night Magic

Friday Night Magic will be have our usual menu of Standard and Draft. Booster Drafts will be three packs of Avacyn Restored. For Standard, Avacyn Restored will be legal.

Also note that we will have Avacyn Restored singles available for purchase Friday when we open!

Weekend

We will be having Sealed and Draft events all weekend long. Saturday we’ll have two sealed events with drafts running all day, starting at noon. Sunday, we’ll have one sealed event with drafts running all day as well. Sealed events have a capacity of 32 people and drafts will fire as soon as we have 8 people (and table space!).

How Do I Get to the Modern PTQ?

We’ve had a ton of people asking us about how to get to our Modern PTQ since it is at The Warsaw and not our store. Fear not! The Warsaw is very conveniently located here in North Brooklyn. It’s easily accessible by both subway and car. There is also plenty of street parking in the area!

If you are taking the subway:
- Take the L train to Bedford Avenue OR
- Take the G train to Nassau Avenue

If you are driving:
- and are heading East on the BQE get off at Exit 32
- and are heading West on the BQE get off at Exit 34
- and are coming from Astoria, take the Pulaski Bridge to Brooklyn

UPDATE! When first posted we had the BQE listed as running North/South, however, it of course runs East/West.

Dark Ascension 2k Weekend in February

Rise of the New Year

Debuting a New MTG Format: Proletariat!

This Sunday, November 13th, we’ll be introducing a new MTG format – Proletariat! Proletariat is that natural successor of Pauper and Peasant (all commons and all commons + 5 uncommons, respectively). Proletariat is all commons and uncommons. It’s a high power level format and allows you to really explore some synergies with really sweet uncommons (Rage Thrower + Furnace Celebration!!!).

We’ll be limiting the card pool to Standard, so Scars of Mirrodin, Mirrodin Besieged, New Phyrexia, M12 and Innistrad will all be legal. Chances are, if you’ve drafted, you have enough cards to make a pretty awesome Proletariat deck!

Innistrad Release @ Twenty Sided Store

The official launch of Innistrad is coming to the Twenty Sided Store!

The launch party will consist of regularly firing 16 person sealed flights throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday. We will be opening up an hour early on Saturday to get people cracking sealed booster packs! The promo card, Ludevic’s Test Subject, is available in very limited quantities; we expect to run out very quickly.

Also, note that FNM on Friday will be Standard constructed (Innistrad is legal!) and Innistrad booster draft!

Innistrad Prerelease: September 24-25

We’ve got Innistrad product on the way for a ton of people to play in prerelease events on the weekend of the 24th and 25th! There will be two main sealed events on Saturday, both accommodating 50 players. On Sunday we’ll have a smaller 32 person sealed event. We’ll also have a few drafts firing off on Sunday to wrap up prerelease weekend.

We want to give as many different people a chance to play in a sealed flight as possible! We will start taking signups for events on Saturday, September 24th at 10am – the day of the event. We will take signups for our second sealed flight only after our first sealed flight is filled up. Further, people not playing in the first flight have first preference to be in the afternoon flight. If you’re playing in the Saturday morning flight, you can put your name on a waiting list for the afternoon flight.

All events use swiss pairings, meaning if you lose a round – you are not eliminated from the event! It will be a ton of fun, see you there!

All sealed flights are $25. Drafts are $15.

M12 Prerelease Details!

Our M12 Prerelease schedule has been updated to reflect our latest changes!

Since this is our first prerelease at the store, we have a limited amount of product. All events are first come first serve!

Sealed signups start at 11am when the store opens. We can accommodate up to 36 players. Sealed will kickoff at 1pm.

Draft signups start at 4pm. The first draft begins at 5pm and each subsequent draft will fire as soon as we have 8 players.
