D&D Encounters : Elder Elemental Eye : Chapter 1 Recap

SESSION 1
At the behest of the leaders of the trade city of Iriaebor (located in the heartlands of Faerun), our heroes set out to investigate a mysterious plague in the crossroads village of Easting. Arriving in the village, they find it in the grip of fear. The outbreak has proven all too real. Easting’s two leaders, Father Evendur and Sir Arveen, are not sure what to do with the infected. Before our heroes can help to make a decision, some of the victims turn into demons and attack. In the end, they have captured one of the cultists responsible for the problem; Jakairn Sabrak.

SESSION 2
Jakairn’s interrogation revealed that a cult of Ghaunadaur is responsible for spreading the plague. The cult’s hideout is the Sunset Shrine, located in the badlands a few hours south of Easting. En route to the shrine, insane Dwarven cultists attacked our heroes at a river crossing. Complicating matters, some of the heroes have contracted the abyssal plague from their previous battle in the village.

SESSION 3
The badlands surrounding the Sunset Shrine are difficult to traverse and prove to be far from safe. On the trek, our heroes encounter two drow scouts and their spider pets. After initial hostilities, these dark elves provided useful information. Now, the adventurers find themselves staring into the maw of the Teeth of Ghaunadaur, taking a rest to replenish their expended resources before entering the Sunset Shrine.

D&D Fortune Cards

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. How do I use Fortune Cards in a Dungeons & Dragons game?

HOW TO PLAY
At the start of each encounter, shuffle your deck and draw a card.

You can play one card per round. It requires no action to play. The rules on each card state when you can play it and what effect it has. A card takes effect just once unless it states otherwise, and you discard the card when its effect ends.

You can have only one Fortune Card in your hand at a time. At the start of each of your turns, you can do one of the following:

• Discard the card in your hand and draw a new one.
• Draw a new card if you don’t have one in your hand.
• Keep the card that’s in your hand if you haven’t played it.
• You can use one or more Dungeons and Dragons Fortune Card boosters as your deck. We recommend 2 booster packs as a start, creating a 10 card deck containing at least 3 of each type of card (attack, defense, tactic).

D&D Encounters: Easting Town Hall Meeting from Twenty Sided Store on Vimeo.

SESSION 0 RECAP
As a prequel to the coming campaign, we were given an insider’s view of a town hall meeting in the crossroads village of Easting. A plague has begun to spread through the population, and the situation has quickly spiraled into irrational action as fear and uncertainty begin to outpace the rate of infection. A diseased woman burst into the crowd, screaming and pleading for the safety of her family as villagers who have initiated their own efforts to board up her home. Order is beginning to give way to chaos, and this is where the story of our heroes begins…

If you’ve been missing out on Wednesday nights then now’s the time to get back in the game!

The story picked up right where it left off: a whirlwind of color as the garden gave way to a short tunnel of white stone. Behind the heroes, through two wrought iron gates, lay a meadow, a lake, and the Water Palace. Ahead sprawled a lush walled garden, exploding with color.

D&D Encounters : Beyond the Crystal Cave : Session 8 Recap

Only 5 sessions left in this Encounters season, so get back in the game before you miss out on the big finale!

Last week, our adventurers stood on the shore of the island hosting the Water Palace, having just dispatched of Ariel and his Kalbon-inspired attack. The isle, smaller than it seemed from the far shore, was covered in deciduous trees and rose bushes. The palace itself resembled a great tunnel of unblemished white marble with a rounded ceiling accented with gilded metal fittings and gigantic glazed windows. A waterfall poured down the sides of the domed roof and filled a channel that encircled the structure; a beautiful sight. Exploration of the island revealed the unusual tracks of a giant humanoid that led out of the water, and the muddy footprints of a man leading up the steps that led to the veranda in front of the palace.

D&D Encounters : Beyond the Crystal Cave : Session 6 Recap

Happy New Year to all! I sincerely hope that everyone enjoyed their holidays, and it is my wish (on behalf of the Twenty Sided Store) that all find peace and prosperity in 2012.

If you’ve missed a few sessions and want to hop back in the game, now’s an opportune time to catch up by coming through to hang with us on Wednesday nights! Here’s some of what you may have missed:

Last week, our heroes gained an audience with the agents of the archfey.

Those who spoke with Ragnar were taken to him by the satyr Robin. The verbeeg was moody, rash and sarcastic, and seemed easily given to wrath. Brooding over his failure against Soryth, he blames Uma for all that went wrong. He explained who Soryth was, what she was trying to do, and tried to make sense of the state of things now; with Juliana and Orlando sharing souls with Caerwyn and Porpherio. He further said that he has instructed his cousin Basal to slay Orlando, so that Soryth cannot use he and Porpherio’s souls for her wicked ends. His fey report that Orlando was last seen in the company of a nymph in the southwestern forest earlier that morning. If the adventurers can find him before Basal does, they may be able to spare his life!

The plot thickens!

Last week our adventurers moved passed the oracle towards the sound of running water, which was coming from a stream that filled part of a large cavern that was hosting a muddy pool. Stiffly protruding from separate mounds were two hands, one male and one female, reaching towards each other. — Juliana and Orlando!?

D&D Encounters : Beyond the Crystal Cave

Join us every Wednesday at 7pm for D&D Encounters!

ADVENTURE BACKGROUND:
For a year, unnatural winds and mists have battered the area around the town of Crystalbrook. Worse, bizarre blue-skinned fey creatures have emerged from the fog to pillage and murder. Townsfolk blame these misfortunes on the fey of the nearby Sildaine Forest. The fey, who also suffer, claim innocence, faulting Crystalbrook’s people for hidden black magic that has attracted the wrath of primal spirits.

Heroes of the Feywild

Check out this great new D&D Players Option. All new classes and races. A perfect supplement to the new Encounters Season Beyond the Crystal Cave.

HEROES OF THE FEYWILD
The Feywild, also sometimes called the land of Faerie, is a place bright with magic. Those who wander its enchanted roads discover miracles and wonders undreamed of in the mortal world. In the Feywild, the laws of science, logic, and reason defer to the arts of magic, story, and rhyme. Ordinary animals and objects converse as eloquently as any worldly mortal. Enchanted forests wander across the landscape like herds of roving sheep. Glorious castles perch on mountain spires that touch the starry heavens, and a bold traveler can board a vessel to a fey palace on the moon. Fairies anoint the dewdrops on morning flowers, and in the evening, satyrs play their gentle pipes to lull the world to sleep.
